Joan Alice Borek, age 80, of Clifford, MI passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Tendercare in Cass City, MI.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Avram Funeral Home in Mayville, MI with Father Paul Megge officiating.

The family will receive visitors 2 – 8 P.M. Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Avram Funeral Home in Mayville and 10 A.M. until time of the service Tuesday. Internment will take place at West Dayton Cemetery.

Joan was born September 12, 1931 in Mayville, MI the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Allen) Ihrke. She was a graduate of Columbiaville High School Class of 1949. Joan married John Borek Jr. April 28, 1979 at the Kingston Methodist Church. She retired from the Pharmacy at Knollwood Clinic in Lapeer, MI. Joan loved spending time with her grand children and great grand children, and also enjoyed gardening, reading, quilt making, cooking, and canning.

She is survived by her husband John of Clifford, MI, eight children; Clarence (Amber) Davee of Lansing, MI, John (Linda) Borek of Clio, MI, James (Linda) Borek, Richard Borek, Linda (Alan) Jobson, Ronald (Jill) Borek, of Clifford, MI, Arlene (James) Smith of Silverwood, MI, Diane (Brian) Schneider of Tavares, FL, two brothers; Lawrence (Nell) Ihrke of Mayville, MI, Donald Ihrke of Dryden, MI, one sister; Wilma (Ronald) McPherson of Mayville, MI, fifteen grand children, and five great grand children.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence and Edna Ihrke, three brothers; Junior, Vern, and William Ihrke, and one sister; Eunice Staley.
