WILLIAM G. WOOD
William G. Wood, 85, who lived with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Homer Scherer Jr., 845 N. 14th St., Manitowoc, died Monday at Holy Family
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Wood was born Dec. 16, 1884, at Garden city, Mich., son of the late George
and Margaret Tracy Wood. He came to Manitowoc in 1910 and was employed by Mirro
Aluminum Co. until retiring in 1946. He married Libby Wilda at Manitowoc in July,
1912, and she died Jan. 12, 1946.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Ruth) Praxmarer of Chicago and Mrs.
Grace Scherer of Manitowoc; a brother, John, of Manistique, Mich.; and six grand-
children. A daughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
