From the Files of the Pilot - Twenty-Five years Ago - 1893
Captain F. P. Williams of this city, died of gestation, "Vat a goundry painful
illness." He was 54 years of age and was buried by the G.A.R. Post of this place
of which he was a member. He had enlisted twice, once in Sept., 1861 and was
discharged the year following. He enlisted again in January, 1864 and served
until July, 1865.
