Manitowoc Pilot, February 20, 1902: "Mrs. Williams Died on Monday—She was a Resident of This City for Many Years-—Had Great Business Acumen-—Her Name Perpetuated by Two Buildings—–Death Occurred in 72nd Year-—Funeral Services Over Her Remains Took Place Yesterday-—Her Relatives and Survivors: In the death of Mrs. Anna Williams Manitowoc loses one of its early residents. Mrs. Williams died at the age of 74 years and she had been a resident of the city for more than half a century. Her name will be identified with Manitowoc for years to come, the Williams House and the Williams block both are named after her. Mrs. Williams manifested throughout her life unusual qualities of a business character for a woman of her kind. During her long life she had enjoyed excellent health, though age enfeebled her and she felt life was slipping away for more than three months past. Mrs. Williams' maiden name was Anna Kellner. She was born in Bohemia. Though married for many years she had no children, though two adopted children survive her, Joseph Williams and Mildred. Relatives surviving are two sister and two brothers, Mrs. Frances Chloupek, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Julia Hess, Burlington, IA, Leopold Kellner, New Denmark and John Kellner. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon She has left property valued at $100,000."
