Mrs. Catherine Westphal, 75, of 3253 N. 48th St., Milwaukee, died
Saturday at her home. She was the widow of Herman F. Westphal,
former Manitowoc resident.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schmitt and Bartlet
Funeral Chapel, 5030 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee, and the body will be
moved to Manitowoc for burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
She was born Catherine Albert in Edinburgh, Scotland, and came to this
country when 3 years old. She lived in Monaco, Pa., before coming to
Milwaukee in 1901. She was graduated from Milwaukee School of Nursing
in 1906 and was matron at the hospital from 1926 until she retired last
March. She was secretary of the school's alumni association for the
past 25 years and was a charter member of the Jane Delano Post No. 408,
American Legion. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and
the United Lutheran Church aaltar (sic) Group.
Her only immediate survivor is the Rev. John Albert; a brother, of
Milwauke (sic).
