GEORGE WELLNER SUCCUMBS TO AN OPERATION
George B. Wellner, born in the town of Newton April 18, 1858, passed away
yesterday afternoon at the Holy Family hospital following an operation which
he underwent a few days ago. Owing to Mr. Wellner’s advanced age and the
seriousness of the operation death was not unexpected. The funeral will be
held Sunday afternoon from the home at 720 South Twenty-first street and
burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Wellner was married in this city and for many years has made his home here,
being employed as a laborer. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. George Wellner,
and seven children, Emil J., Edmund, George Jr., Walter, Harvey and Mabel of
this city and Arthur W., of St. Paul. One brother, Fred Wellner of Menominee,
Mich., and two sisters, Mrs. Arens of Lyndon, Wis., and Mrs. L. Resch of
Sheboygan and six grandchildren also survive him.
