Lewis W.E. Wagner, 85, a Manitowoc resident who resided at Shady Lane Home for
the past five years, died Saturday evening, Nov. 1, at Holy Family Hospital,
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Reformed United Church of
Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Arthur H. Wille will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Wagner was born July 15, 1895, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late Lewis W.
and Johanna Boeckman Wagner. He resided in Manitowoc County all his life. He
married Frances M. Marschie May 19, 1914, at Manitowoc. She preceded hi in death
Oct. 31, 1974. Mr. Wagner was a carpenter by trade and prior to his retirement,
he had been employed for many years by Casper and Hamann Construction Companies,
Manitowoc. He was a member and past secretary and treasurer of the Carpenters'
Local No. 849, and a 50 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie No. 706.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Fred Galli, and Gloria
and John Murray of Manitowoc; two brothers, William Wagner and Frank Wagner of
Manitowoc; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by a son, Charles E., a daughter, Pearl Galli, an infant son, an infant daughter,
a grandson, three brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock
this Monday evening and Tuesday until 11 a.m. when the casket will be moved to
the church where the body will lie in state from noon until the time of services.
A memorial service will be held 7 o'clock this Monday evening by Fraternal Order
of Eagles Arie No. 706.
