WILLIAM H. VOLLENDORF

William Vollendorf, 74, formerly of Shady Lane Home, died Friday evening at
Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, where he was a patient three weeks.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery
with graveside military rites by the Drews-Bleser, American Legion Post 88.
Mr. Vollendorf was born April 23, 1891, at Kaukauna, son of the late Otto and
Augusta Luschow Vollendorf. He attended Manitowoc schools and was a graduate
of West Side High school. He enlisted in the second regiment of Wisconsin
National Guard in 1909 in which he served until 1913, and on Sept. 14, 1917,
enlisted in the regular U.S. Army. He served as a sergeant in battles in France
and the Argonne and was discharged May 8, 1919. He was a machinist at Manitowoc
Shipbuilding Inc. and retired in 1960. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 65, A
and AM and International Association of Machinists 516.
Surviving are a brother, Marvin, and a sister, Mrs. William Krainik, of
Manitowoc, and nieces and nephews. A sister and three brothers preceded him
in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where at 7:30 p.m.
memorial Masonic rites will be conducted.
