Henry A Vogt., Sr., 82, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died early this
morning at his home, 1802 Wollmer street, after a long illness.
Mr. Vogt was born in this city Feb. 7, 1870. He married Miss Minnie Witt
Oct. 19, 1897, who survives with five children and 11 grandchildren. There
are three daughters, Mrs. Edgar Hansen and Mrs. William Nemetz of this city
and Mrs. Aaron Kerscher of Waukegan, Ill., two sons, Edgar and Henry, Jr.,
both of this city; and one brother, Edward of Hutchinson, Kan.
Mr. Vogt was a painter foreman at the ship yards for 36?? years. He was
affiliated with the Odd Fellows, Eagles and Royal League.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Wattawa,
Urbanek & Schlei funeral home with the Rev. Ernest Zoerb, pastor of the First
Lutheran church, in charge. The Odd Fellows will have charge of the services
at the grave in Evergreen cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral
home from Friday noon until the hour of the services.
