OLD SETTLER DIED SATURDAY
Christoph Tesch, aged 83, and a resident of Manitowoc since 1865,
died at 6:30 o’clock Saturday evening at his home 926 Twenty fourth
street, after an illness of over a year with dropsy. Deceased was
born in Wolkwitz, Leipsig, Germany and was married to Lena Schulten
in 1856. Seven children were born to the couple of whom five are
still living, four daughters and one son. The daughters are; Mrs.
Wilhelmina Miller, Milwaukee, Mrs. Gusta Miller, Milwaukee, Mrs.
Lena Miller, Milwaukee and Mrs. Annie Klingbiel, city. The son is
Fred Tesch who lives at the home on Twenty fourth street. Mr. and
Mrs. Tesch came to America in 1865 coming directly to Manitowoc
where they have resided since. The funeral will be held tomorrow
(Tuesday) at St. John’s church at 2 o’clock pm. Interment will be
in Evergreen Cemetery.
