George E. (sic) Symes, 74, died Wednesday evening at the Holy Family hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday. He had been in ill health for several months, and death was due to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel at the Frazier Mortuary, the Rev. V. T. Nearhoof officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Symes was born in this city on May 26, 1863, and had lived here all his life, except for a few years he spent at Wabeno. He was a painter by trade, but has been living in retirement for the last ten years. He made his home with his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Small, at 1126 New York avenue. He never married.
Survivors are a brother, Charles of Wabeno, and two sisters, Mrs. Small and Mrs. Emma Sharp of Manitowoc.
The body may be viewed at the Frazier mortuary.
