JOSEPH SUCHOMEL

Joseph Suchomel, 72, lifelong resident of city and county, died suddenly this
morning at 10 o’clock at the home, 726 North 12th street. Mr. Suchomel, who
had been blind for five years, was seated in a chair as other members of the
household trimmed a Christmas tree when he was stricken with a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Wattawa, Urbanek &
Schlei funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Suchomel was born at Kossuth in 1869 and in 1890 married Miss Mary Kriwanek.
They resided on a farm in the town until 1899 when they moved to this city where
Mr. Suchomel was employed at the Seating company plant and later at the shipyards.
Mrs. Suchomel died in 1910.
He was a member of the Z.C.B.J. lodge.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Grover Herzog of this city; son, John, of Denmark;
three sisters, Mrs. Anton Wacek and Mrs. John Skubal of this city, Mrs. Charles
Baker of Syracuse, N.Y.; brother, John, of Melnik; seven grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Thursday at 2 p.m. until the hour
of services Friday.
