WILLIAM S. STROUF

William S. Strouf, 74, of 942 N. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo J. Schmitt
will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Strouf was born Sept. 1, 1900, at Denmark, son of the late Stephen and Anna
Jana Strouf. The family moved to Montana where they resided on a ranch until
1923, when he returned to Manitowoc. He married Irene Popp June 17, 1944 at Holy
Innocent Catholic Church. He owned and operated a grocery business at Manitowoc
for many years and was then employed at Imperial Eastman Corp., Manitowoc, until
his retirement in 1969. Mr. Strouf was a World War II army veteran and a member
of American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Stephen W. and a daughter, Mrs. David (Joan)
Maltby, of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Blance (sic) Urs, of Montana and Mrs.
Mary Parsons, of Washington and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, where a wake
memorial prayer service will be at 7 p.m.
