PETER ROSES DIES, AGE 90
Former Cooperstown Man To Be Buried Monday
Peter Roses, 90, who was a resident of the town of Cooperstown, this county,
for a period of years, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anton
Shilleman at Lac du Flambeau, Friday night.
Mr. Roses was born in France and emigrated to this country in his youth,
settling in Cooperstown, where he was married to Mary Hejda of Cooperstown
about 60 years ago in St. James church. About ten years later the family moved
to Pittsfield where Mr. Roses took up farming. Mrs. Roses passed away there in
1921 and since then the widower resided with his daughter at Lac du Flambeau.
Mr. Roses is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Anton Shilleman, Lac du Flambeau
and Mrs. Clarence James Pittsfield. An adopted son, Thomas Clark Roses, Green
Bay, also survives with four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
The body will arrive in this city early Sunday morning and may be viewed at the
Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home all day Sunday and up until the hour
of the funeral. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart church Monday
morning at 10 o’clock and interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
