LESTER REUTHER

LESTER REUTHER, FORMER LOCAL BOY, DIES AT CLEVELAND
Lester Reuther, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Reuther, former residents
of this city, died at the home of his parents at Cleveland today after
a ten days illness from typhoid fever. Messages reached the city at
noon announcing the death.
Mr. Reuther was reared in this city and attended the local schools and
three years in the high school. He had attained considerable prominence
as an athlete and ball player and played with the Manitowoc and Sheboygan
teams in the Lake Shore league and (illegible) the Western league in
North Dakota. He had been signed with the Minneapolis team in the Western
league but was prevented from reporting with his team by illness. Mr.
Reuther was 24 years of age having been born on Aug. 1, 1894. He is well
remembered in this city where he made his home up to a few years ago when
his parents removed to Sheboygan and later to Cleveland.
Decedent is survived by his parents and two brothers, Elmer and (illegible)
both of Cleveland. It is expected that the body will be brought to this
city for burial.

FUNERAL OF LESTER REUTHER HERE TOMORROW
The body of the late Lester Reuther will be brought here from Cleveland
this afternoon at 4 and will be taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.W.
Cooper, South Fourteenth street, from where the funeral will be held at
12:45 tomorrow to St. James Episcopal church. The Masonic lodge will have
charge of the services at Evergreen where interment will take place.
