LOUIS C. RATHSACK
Louis Carl Rathsack, 69, of 1235 South Ninth street, who retired three years
ago from active business after more than 50 years in the hardware business in
Manitowoc, died early today at the Holy Family hosptial.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the St. Johns Evangelical
church, the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery.
Mr. Rathsack was born in this city in 1874 and entered the hardware business
when a young man when the William Rathsack and Sons was organized. He was in
charge of the tin shop for many years and was vice-president of the company.
Failing health forced his retirement from active business three years ago.
He was a membeer of the Manitowoc aerie (sic) of Eagles and the Odd Fellows.
In 1899 Mr. Rathsack married Miss Clara Hoyer. She survives with three sons,
Clarence and Edward Rathsack of this city, William of San Francisco; daughter,
Mrs. Robert McCoy of Jerome, Ariz.; two brothers, William and Charles of this
city; sister, Mrs. Ella Ziglinski of this city; and 15 grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Shimek and Schwartz funeral home after seven
o'clock Saturday night. It will be moved to the church Monday morning at
10 o'clock to lie in state until the hour of the services.
