Louis Raether, 85, (photo) of 923 North 22nd street, retired farmer, died
this morning, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran church, the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery.
He was born in this city in 1862 and in 1894 married Miss Louisa Eberhardt.
They located on a farm in Manitowoc Rapids, now operated by his son, Edwin.
They retired 29 years ago and moved to this city. The couple observed their
golden wedding four years ago.
Survivors are his wife; son, Edwin of route 1, Manitowoc; daughter, Mrs. Adolph
Eichman of this city, sister, Mrs. Charles Struck of New London; and five grand-
children.
The body may be viewed at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home after Sunday noon
and will be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
