Joseph Peroutka, __, a retired marine engineer, died Thursday afternoon at
his home, ___ N. ___ St., Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday…(underinked)… the Rev. Allen McCaul
officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Peroutka was born at Manitowoc Sept. __, 1871, son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Peroutka. He attended Manitowoc schools and Jan. 9, ____ married Helen
Auton who died six years ago.
Mr. Peroutka was a marine engineer and had been a chief marine engineer for
Goodrich Transit Co. and in later years was employed in the same capacity on
the steamer Virginia, Christopher Columbus and the Theodore Roosevelt. He
retired in 1941. A member of the Masonic lodge, men of the order will conduct
graveside ___.
Surviving are two sons, ___ and Leo at Manitowoc and a grandson.
