Richard L. Anderson, 52, of Amherst Junction passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home.
Richard was born March 11, 1955, in Stevens Point, son of Anton and Esther (Slettene) Anderson. On Sept. 17, 1977, Richard married Sharon Simkowski at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Richard was the president of New Hope Mutual Insurance Company of Iola. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all. Richard was a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon Anderson of Amherst Junction; children, Kim (Tim) Streit, Tony Anderson, and Kelsey Anderson, all of Wisconsin Rapids; and one sister, Janet (Michael) Hughes of Plymouth. He also is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Betty Anderson and Joan Zarnke.
A funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2007, at the Nelsonville Lutheran Church in Nelsonville. The Rev. Gretchen Anderson will officiate. A visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening, May 27, at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery in the town of New Hope following the services Monday.
