╚══`.¸.my brother Rick, he was born in Connecticut in the same hospital with the same doctor and the same mom and dad as me, yet four years apart. When he was a little kid he loved to ride his bike, ride motorbikes and shoot toads and frogs into the air in those rockets you could buy and build. played the saxophone in the band at school and even played outside my window at my first slumber party to impress the girls. My first memory of my brother was walking down the road, holding his pinky...He was my big brother, my only brother. He bought me my first Icee (11 cents by the way) and was careful to teach me how to drink it, so you could get the very last drop.

He and my uncle were the best part of my childhood, even though he gave me pink bellies, (leg squeezes), froggy punches, snapped me with rubber band guns. When taking me water skiing, he would try so hard to fling me into the bunkie weed, and anything else he could do to make my life miserable. Yes, those were the days. ~
Once he took a whopper of a spanking for me, and, many times growing up, protected me from bullies at the Youth Center where we hung out during the summers. He taught me how to play four square and helped me learn how to ride a bike. I remember him taking me to the parade, letting me sit on his shoulders so I could see better. We used to fight over the front seat, as whoever said..."Front seat all alone", would get to ride shotgun with our mother on the way to wherever we were heading.

My favorite time was Christmas Eve. After we went to bed, whoever reached to the side of the bed and felt that our stocking was full first, would then run into the others' room to play with our toys, till Mom and Dad woke up.

He always enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, and anything and everything to do with the water. He swam with wild dolphins, wild manatees and taught me how to scuba dive. Actually, that first time of scuba diving was probably the best day of my life. The second time, not so much ~
He was a very good cook inside and outside on the grill. Before he got sick, every year we would have our Thanksgiving dinner at his house. He would cook the turkey outside and it was always the best dinner of the year. I never liked lobster, but when he made it. I loved it and could never get enough.

When Rick first got sick with Leukemia, he signed up so that they could test him and use him to test experimental drugs. So even if he would have died with the Leukemia, which he fought hard and beat, he has helped others by taking a chance to help not only himself but others...

Also, even though I know he wasn't perfect.. ~ I never heard him lie, cheat, or steal ( well except for my Halloween candy). One thing about my brother is that he would have given the shirt off his back to anyone. He was a good guy, and all of you who knew my brother ~ knew that. He honored my mom till the day he died,~ Even a few days before he died, he reminded me to go visit her.

During his Leukemia fight, he never complained or felt sorry for himself. I don't recall that either, with the COPD or even the Parkinson's, or lastly the lung and liver cancer. It wasn't easy for him to be a single parent, as he fought these illnesses the past eight years, but he kept fighting hard to live, so he could watch his daughter, Kelsey, grow up. She was the light of his life. He also raised Michael alone, and was so proud of Mike that he had found love, and tried hard to be a good father to his two wonderful grandchildren, Iris and Mason.
