MONTROSE-Sylvia M Boyer, age 90, a life long resident, died Thursday afternoon, Oct 22, 1998 at her home in Montrose. She was a farmer's wife for 65 years and was also employed as a cook at the St. Luke's Hospital in Montrose.
Sylvia M. Trone, the daughter of George E and Eve M (Hull) Trone, was born on Nov. 15, 1907, in Montrose, Colo., where she spent her child hood, received her education, grew to adulthood and lived her entire lifetime until the time of her death.
Miss Trone was married on Nov 4, 1934, in Montrose, Colo., to Emmett Boyer who preceded her in death on July 26, 1998, in Montrose.
Mrs Boyer's main focus, love and joy in life was her family and grandchildren. She also greatly enjoyed gardening.
Survivors grateful to have shared Mrs. Boyer's life include her son, Jim Dolan, of Montrose; six grandchildren: Timothy Wayne Dolan, David Allen Dolan, Roanna Snell, Mauri Dolan, Adele Frangos, Raonna Heddin; three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Other family survivors include one brother, Warren Trone, of Montrose; and four sisters: Edna Lynn and Gladys Lynn, both of Missouri; Laura Crandel, of Rangely; and Susan Ireland, of California.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs Boyer was also preceded in death by two sisters,Ilene Trone & Marie Boyer and 2 sons Vernon & Chester Dolan.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct 26, and continue until service time, 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct 26, at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services in remembrance and to honor Mrs Boyer's life will be officiated on Monday, Oct 26 at 2 p.m. from the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow the service in the Valley Lawns Cemetery south of Montrose, with arrangements being handled under the direction of the Crippin Funeral Home of Montrose.

Grandma did all the cooking and canning for St Lukes Hospital. She also lived at the hospital. Her children stayed with grandma Drennen and after work every night she walked to grandma Drennen's to spend time with her boys, bathe them and see that they were put to bed and asleep before she walked back to the hospital.
