William DEAVER, Jr was born Sept 22, 1763 in Cecil County, MD to William DEAVER, Sr and Susannah BIRCHFIELD. He is recognized by DAR as being a private in the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War. (His family was living in Amherst County, VA at the time.) They later moved to western NC where he married Susannah SMITH on July 13, 1791 in Buncombe County, NC. Wife Susannah died July 14, 1822 in Haywood Co, NC. William went to live with son Reuben in Buncombe County. Reuben died in 1852, so William went to live with son Elijah in Marshall County, MS. He died there three years later and is buried in a small Deaver family cemetery on private land near Early Grove.
