Mrs. Ora Merat Jury of LeContes Mills, who died at the hospital on Sunday morning, March 27, 1938, was born on June 8, 1895, making her age 42 years, nine months, and 19 days. She was the daughter of Edward and Philomena Merat.
Her early life was spent on her father's farm. She had much ambition in her school work and became a successful school teacher.
She was united in marriage to Norman Jury, son of the late Ira Jury of Odessa, on April 20, 1915. She is survived by her husband and nine children. Mrs. Irene Plubell of Frenchvlle, Mrs Leona Picard, Mrs. Beatrice Picard of LeContes Mills, and Edward, Maida, Genevieve, Emerson, Willard, Olive, all at home. Two infants preceded her to her grave. She is also survived by her aged mother of LeContes Mills, three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ida Merritt of California, Hugh Merat of Sharon, Mrs. Etta Derminer of Clearfield, and Mrs. Fannie Koch of Sharon, and one grandchild of LeContes Mills.
She was loving mother and was loved by every one who knew her.
She made her home on a farm at LeContes Mills, until three years ago the family moved to a differnt section of the community and here she spent the rest of her life.

Mrs. Ora Merat Jury, 43, wife of Norman Jury of LeContes Mills, died Sunday at 1 a.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesdy at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary's catholic Church, Frenchville, with Rev. Father Francis Carrick officating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mrs. Jury took great interest in her housework. Until two months ago when she was stricken by a light stroke, she managed to throw off the affliction but a later one caused her death.
She was a member of the Catholic Chruch. Funeral services were held at the Frenchville Catholic Church Tuesday morning, March 29, and she was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Frenchville; and will long be remembered and her place hard to fill.
