Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Kucera-Rozanek Chapel. Schuyler, with the Rev. Ron Wakeman officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. today in the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Omaha Aug. 16, 1893, daughter of Joseph and Anna Kuotnik Vavra. She attended Omaha public schools. She married Fred Thomas in David City August 24, 1916.
She lived in Omaha and Linwood before moving to Schuyler 22 years ago. She was a member of Schuyler Chapter 75 Order of the Eastern Star, a past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and a member of more than 50 years of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge.
She is survived by two sons, Frederick Thomas of Lincoln and Dr. Conrad Thomas of Chilicothe, Ill, and three daughters, Mrs. John (Muriel) Harper of David City, Mrs. Ervin (Betty) Bartunek of Fremont and Mrs. Griff (Elaine) Tiller of Miami, Fla.
She is also survived by a brother, Joseph Vavra of Fremont; a sister Bessie Wesley of West Covina, Calif., 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in December 1979, three sisters and three brothers.
