On August 13, 1868, she was united in marriage to Charles Franklin Shorb in Massillon, Stark, Ohio.
Charles and Emma left Ohio and headed southwest due to Charles' asthma. They resided in Kansas for awhile and eventually settled in Range, Oklahoma. They had 8 children, two of whom died under the age of 2.

MRS. C. F. Shorb, Early Settler in Texas County Dies
Mrs. C. F. Shorb, 84, pioneer homesteader of Texas county, died Wednesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lew Ewing, of Range. Mrs. Shorb has been quite frail for some time, but her fatal illness was of only a day’s duration.
Mrs. Shorb and her husband, who died about four years ago homesteaded in the early days near Range and they continued to make their home there.
Surviving her are four sons and two daughters: J. E. Shorb of Gate; Ezra Shorb of Liberal; W. C. Shorb, Mrs. Lew Ewing and H. L. Shorb of Range; and Mrs. Pearl Kettell of Delta, Colo.
