He was born September 17, 1942 in Ainsworth, NE to Marvin "Jack" and Nadine (Clyde) Allen.
On August 9, 1940 he was married to Alice L. (Bright) Looser in Alliance. Larry worked as a mechanic for Harris Sales for 20 years and then operated Allen Windshield Repair until his retirement. He was an avid gun and guitar collector and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a member of the N.R.A.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, his children, Carol (Don) Hill of Julesburg, CO, Tinamarie Pierce of Ogallala, Larry (Anita) Allen of North Platte, Clinton Allen of North Platte, Clayton Allen of Broken Bow, his step-children, John Looser of Lincoln, Elaine Maxey and Janie Vallejo of Alliance. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Jerry (Anita) Allen of Alliance, Francie (Jim) Hartman of Hemingford, Freda (Lyle) Rima of Lincoln, Joyce (Julian) Cochran of Plainview, NE and Jack (Sharon) Allen of Olathe, KS. His 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant daughter, Bernadine.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 1 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Allen Bright officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
