Alvina Marie Braatz, age 101, of Wells, MN, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Good shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, MN, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Kathy Fullarton will officiate and burial will be in St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Fairville, Iowa. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements. Alvina Marie Braatz was born November 11, 1908, the daughter of Robert C. and Ida Marie (Heber) Braatz in Fairfield Township, Palo Alto County, Iowa. Alvina was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. She loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by one sister: Esther Struecker of Waterloo, IA; along with nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Edna Putz, Myrtle Kourt, Lydia Stauffer; 4 brothers: Herbert, Erwin, Ralph and Harold; one half sister, Olga Braatz.
