Howard A. Davis, 60, veteran of world war I, died suddenly at 4:45 A.M. Sunday in his home in Lamartine, Clarion County. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was born in Pittsburgh on February 19, 1892, the son of Daavid T. and Mary Ann Davis. Mr. Davis moved from Pittsburgh to Ninevah, Clarion County in 1931 and to Lamartine in 1936. The deceased was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church of Ninevah and the Miller Rankin American Legion, Foxburg. During the first world war Mr. Davis served 17 months overseas with the 285 Company, Military Police. On May 10, 1923, he married Christine Louisa Gray at Pittsburgh who survives together with three children, Howard Allen, Harold Franklin and Mary Katherine Davis, all at home. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters, Miss Ann Davis of the Appinwail Veterans Hospital, Mrs. David Conner and William Davis of Pittsburgh, and Aaron Davis of Cleveland. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. at the family home with Rev. Ralph W. Heiler, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Lamartine Evangelical and Reformed Cemetery. Members of the Miller Rankin Post, American Legion, will be in charge of the military services.
