Marion E. Fleming, age 84, of Kouts, Indiana passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at his home. He was born May 13, 1917 in Morgan Township, the son of Walter E. and Grace A. (Baum) Fleming. He was retired from Indiana General in Valparaiso as a grinder after 29 years of service. On August 24, 1941 in Stillwell, IN he married Dorothy Glass who survives along with one daughter; Joyce (Don) Kelly of Kouts, one son; James (Clare) Fleming of Seymour, Missouri, six sisters; Gladys Miller, Pauline Webber, Shirley Johnson, Lorraine Murvihill all of Valparaiso, Marjorie Sears of Wisconsin and Judy Pelham of Illinois, one brother; Glen Fleming of LaPorte, four grandchildren; Kristine (Kerry) Zabel of LaPorte, Michael Kelley of Merrillville, Amy (Bruce) Hentzell of California, Jennifer Fleming of Indianapolis, and three great-grandchildren; Brittany, Dana and Tara Casbon all of Boone Grove. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of Kouts Christian Church and served in the army from 1942 - 1945 as an airplane and engine mechanic.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 10:00 AM at Kosanke Funeral Home, Kouts with Pastor Mark Wilkinson officiating and burial at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation Friday May 10, 2002 from 4 - 8 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
