Alonzo Boone was the son of John Linville Boone and Mary "Polly" (Morris) Boone. He was the grand nephew of the famous explorer Colonel Daniel Boone. On January 2, 1834 Alonzo married Mary Jane Jackson in Callaway County, Missouri. They were the parents of Mary Clarissa, Alfred O and Charles Edgar. Mary Jane passed away in 1839.

On May 30, 1841 Alonzo married Hannah Dyer in Montgomery County, Missouri. They were the parents of Francis Marion and Mary Ann Elizabeth. Hannah passed away on July 3, 1844.

On February 28, 1847 Alonzo married Martha Jane Merchant in Montgomery City, Montgomery County, Missouri. They were the parents of Sarah Jane "Sally", Martha Susan, Hannah Ruth, John William Alonzo, Nancy L, Emma Josephine, George Morris, Delia Ellen, Richard Bass, Samuel Lee, Arthur Tucker, Lillie Bell and Anna Eliza.
