SERVICES FOR CLAUDE ELWOOD

Funeral services for Claude K. Elwood were held Saturday, June 1 at the Schrader Chapel in Wheatland. The Rev. Douglas Neuman officiated.

Mr. Elwood succumbed at the Platte County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, May 29 at the age of 83, following an extended illness. He was born in Elma, Iowa on November 1, 1890 and resided in Glendo since 1920.

He was a retired merchant, having previously operated a grocery and market in Glendo. He was married to Beulah Hazel Estep in 1917 at Wray, Colorado. Claude was a veteran of World War I. He served on the Glendo Town Council and was at one time Police Judge.

Survivors include the widow, Beulah Elwood of Glendo; two sisters, Mrs. Madge Strong, Torrington, and Mrs. Mae E. Foster, Torrington.

Burial was at the Wheatland Cemetery. Pallbearers were William Collins, Robert Collins, Clyde Cundall, William Trenholm, Everett Engling and Hugo Lenz. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Brown, Jack Jones, L. A. Blankenship, Ivan Hooley, Fred Searl, W. L. Haggerty, and John Hughes.
