James was the son of Thomas Perry Jackson "Jack" Sizemore and Lela Driver Sizemore. He was the grandson of William Henry Sizemore and Katherine Roach Sizemore of Geneva County Alabama. He served his country during World War II. James worked as a lineman for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was the husband of Virgie Helena Baker Sizemore and the father of twin boys, Raburn Harry Sizemore and James Larry Sizemore. James and Virgie were married in Polk County, Texas but lived most of their and the children's lives in the Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas. James had some severe problems with blockages in his leg and had surgery in a Houston hospital to replace the veins. A resulting bloodclot from the surgery took his life.
