Paul J. Siewertsen was one of the early settlers of Rock Falls Twp. He came to the locality in the fall of 1872, He brought with him his bride-to-be, the former Sophia Johannsen. They came to America on the same ship in 1866 from Schleswig-Holstein area of GER. They both settled near Clinton IA and were married there on April 8, 1872. They broke 400A of virgin prairie in Lime Creek, Falls Twp and Portland Twp. Their home was located in sec. 32 of Falls Twp. Here they raised their family and were prosperous farmers. They retired to live in Mason City IA. The children of this couple were Johanna (Mrs. Peter Jensen), Mary (Mrs. Carston Jensen), Minnie (Mrs. Andrew Matzen), and Henry. The home farm remained in the family until it was sold after the death of Minnie Matzen in 1976. She was 98+ years old. Henry farmed and lived on this place many years. It was purchased about 1922 by Andrew and Minnie Matzen. Their son Paul lived there for some years.
