Heidi was born to parents Russell Ralph Dahlquist and Virginia A. Foster. She graduated from Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin; from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia with a BS in Psychology; from Capella University with a MS in Psychology; and from Sentara College of Health Professions in Chesapeake, Virginia. She was a Registered Nurse with Asera Care Hospice in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a devoted writer and had many of her works published. She married Ralph Scott Brown, they later divorced. She died at Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska.
