Arnold Meyer was born on December 27, 1909 in Cook, Nebraska to Adolph and Doretta (Koch) Meyer. He passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 in California at the age of 102 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Throughout his life, Arnold worked in a variety of jobs including owning his own construction company, Meyer Dovel Construction, farming, working in the engine room at Northern Natural Gas and working in a Copper and Brass Shop in California. He was united in marriage on November 23, 1941 to Dorise Sapp at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Palmyra, Nebraska. Together they raised three daughters, Beverly, Vicki and Jackie.

Arnold was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, trapping, gardening, and mushroom hunting. Some of his other interests included playing cards such as pitch and gin and traveling. Arnold's love for his family was beyond measure and spending time with each family member was a priority for him. His strong German upbringing led him to say "Mach's Gut" upon departing which translated means "Take Care"

He is survived by his Children: Beverly Reinmuth and husband James of Cathedral City, CA; Vicki Focken of Douglas, NE; Jacki Meyer and husband Patrick Plith of Palmyra, NE; Grandchildren: Ben Reinmuth and friend Michelle Moyer of Cathedral City, CA; Chelsea Carson and husband Jack of Cathedral City, CA; Nick & Bailey Focken of Douglas, NE; Shayna Ingersell of Lincoln, NE. 4 Great Grandchildren: Oliver & Gwendolyn Reinmuth; William Carson; Carter Ingersell. Sister: Marie Naber of Lakewood, CO. Also survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorise Meyer; 5 brothers, 6 sister and son-in-law: Sam Focken.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Douglas, Nebraska with Father Christopher Barak officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, July 13th from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home, resuming at 5:00 P.M. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Douglas followed by a 6:00 P.M. Rosary Service at the Church.

Interment will be in St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Douglas, Nebraska.

Memorials may be directed to the Family or St. Martin's Catholic Church.
