Rosemary Bowling, 90, of Watseka, passed away Monday (July 2, 2012) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.


She was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Freeland Park, Ind., the daughter of Wilbur and Blanche (Hancock) Cotner. Her husband of more than 40 years, Earl Bowling, whom she married June 3, 1939, preceded her in death.



Rosemary enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and spending time with her grandchildren.


Surviving are one son, Roy (Joanne) Bowling, of Kankakee; two daughters, Barbara (James) Rayburn, of Papineau, and June (William) Golding, of Reno, Nev.; eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joseph Rayburn; and one sister, Betty Anderson.


A gathering time for family and friends will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the 11 a.m. funeral services at the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes, Kankakee Chapel. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. (EST) at the Oxford West Cemetery, Oxford, Ind.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
