MRS. ANNA SELINA LINDRUS
NISULA – Mrs. Anna Selina Lindrus, 81, passed away Sunday afternoon in the Baraga County Memorial Hospital where she was a patient for several weeks.
She was born in Kärsämäki, Porkkalan kylästä, Oulun Lanni, Finland on Dec. 21, 1884 and came to the United States on March 12, 1902, first residing in Hancock and then in Redridge. She lived on a farm in Dollar Bay for 40 years and for the past 38 years she had resided in Nisula.
On August 1, 1908 she was united in marriage to Alexander Lindrus in Hancock, who passed away on May 14, 1937.
Mrs. Lindrus was a member of the Pine Street Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Silvia) Rautio of Highland Park, Mrs. Mary Olson of Robbinsdale, Minn and Mrs. William (Hilma) Komula of Hancock; three sons, John of Nisula, Herman of Highland Park and Arne of Detroit; 23 grandchildren; 47 Great-Grandchildren; a brother Herman Noponen in Finland; a sister Mrs. Linnea Kujala in Finland and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Pine Street Apostolic Lutheran Church, the Rev. Walter Tovola to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery.
The body will be brought to the church at 1 p.m., Wednesday, from the Jukuri Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 p.m. today.
