LAKE MARY,FL--Thelma Ruth Reagan Anglin, 100, known as "Granny" to her family, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Lake Mary, FL.
Thelma was born September 4, 1911 in Spurrier, TN, the daughter of James Lowery Reagan (1889-1968) and Belva Ann Wright Reagan (1886-1993). As a child her family moved her to Granite, Oklahoma where she lived for many years. Thelma was married to Arthur Allen Matthews in 1926 and later to Lee Crayton Anglin from Alabama, a retired foreman from Indiana Steel & Wire in Muncie, IN.
Thelma lived much of her adult life in the Muncie, IN are before she and Lee retired to a home in Madeira Beach, FL in 1965. Several years after Lee's death in 1983, Thelma relocated to Longwood, Florida, near Orlando, to be closer to other family members.
Thelma was preceded in death by her son, Willis Horace Matthews in 1994 and by his wife, Shirley, in 1996; by her siblings, Maurice Clinton Reagan (1913-1940), Charles F. Reagan (1916-1986), Hazel D. Rose (1921-2001), and Sylvia Robbins (1927-1987).
At her request, Thelma will be cremated and her ashes placed at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN, where her husband, Lee, is buried.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
