She was born April 9, 1916 in Alger to John and Florence (Howard) Cochran. On Oct. 24, 1942 she married Robert L. Akers, and he preceded her in death July 24, 1954.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Mrs. Akers was a deli cook at Ohio Northern University for 14 years. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church of Ada, and a member of the Ada Senior Citizens.
Memorial services were held this morning, March 10 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Dan Reed officiating. There was no visitation and the body was cremated. Memorials may be made to Grace Gospel Church of Ada.
