Mrs. Blackmon was a native of Calhoun County and had lived in Vicksburg since 1959. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Blackmon; parents,Evans F. and Vivian V. Sewell Brassfield; granddaughter,Angela Bolls; brothers, Glenn Brassfield and Evans Brassfield Jr.

Survivors include two sons; and two daughters; three brothers and four sisters; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
