Laverna was a dau. of George W. & Elizabeth "Betty" (Shaw) Tucker. First married to a Johnson and had eight children by that marriage.

Obit:
"Mrs. Oeffler Dies
Succumbs Monday After Being In Hospital for Week.
Mrs. Laverne Oeffler, 55, wife of Eli Oeffler of Starr township, died at a Columbus hospital 4 a.m. Monday from pulmonary embolism. She had been taken to the hospital the previous week after being ill for some time.
The body was returned to the Woodard Funeral Service mortuary for burial preparation after which it was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Rodgers on Church street.
Mrs. Oeffler was the mother of eight children by a previous marriage. They are: Mrs. Rodgers, Mrs. Alfred Stalters, and Clyde Johnson of Waynesburg; Mrs. Walter
Leffler and Earnest Johnson of Chauncey; Mrs. Leonard Griffith of Gore; James Johnson of New Straitsville, and Harley Johnson of Nauvoo, Ill. Her mother, Mrs. Betsy Powell, lives at New Straitsville.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rodger's home by the Rev. R.C. Babylon with burial made in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Her first husband was James C. Johnston. They're in the 1910 and 1920 census for Dover, Athens Co., then Good Hope, Athens Co. with her m. to Eli Oeffler in the 1930 Logan, Hocking Co. census. I'm still not sure of the correct spelling of "Laverna." She's "Loverna" in the 1930 census.
Elias Joseph "Eli" Oeffler was m. to Elizabeth H. Ohlinger before Laverna because this says that the Christopher Ohlinger living with them was Eli's widowed brother-in-law. I would've added to Laverna's Findagrave bio. that Eli was who Laverna m. sometime after the 1920 census, so she wasn't the biological mother of his children
