Mary was born Aug. 12, 1913, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Martin and Julia (Muransky) Bolha. A member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and former member of the Altar and Rosary Society, she enjoyed gardening and loved her grandchildren. Mary was a homemaker and spent many years alongside her husband, cleaning at St. Ann's Church and the parish house.
Mary was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband, Andrew Shack, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
She is survived by her three children, two daughters, Patty Bowen of Longbeach, Calif., and Donna Jean Moss of Sebring, and a son, Eugene (Stephanie) Shack, also of Sebring; seven grandchildren, David, Bill and Mike (Cathy) Moss, Shannon (Ron) Johnston, Mark Bowen and Abby and Ally Shack; three great-grandchildren, Brock and Braxton Wickersham and Jonathan Moss; and one great-great-grandson, Tate Wickersham. She was also survived by a sister, Marguerite Sidlosky of Akron.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beth Ann Wickersham; four brothers, Martin, John, Steve and George Bohla; and by two sons-in-law, George "Corky" Moss and Dale Bowen.
Mary's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers, Justine and Kim at Home Away From Home in Beloit, for the kind and exceptional care given to her there.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park.
