GREENSBORO - Colonel Lloyd Allen Osborne, Jr., 81, of 3704 Hickory Hill Dr., died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2001 , at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Westminster Gardens.
Colonel Osborne was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where he served in many offices including the Vestry.
He was retired from the U.S. Army having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Drake University and did undergraduate work at UNC-Chapel Hill. He was a Shriner and a Master Mason, a member of TROA (The Retired Officers Association), an advisor for DeMolay, a member of the Hard Rock Coffee Club, the Sedgefield Country Club and the Tarheel Seniors Golf Association.
Colonel Osborne is survived by his wife, Leota Holler Osborne of the home; daughter, Karen Taylor; son, Lloyd A. Osborne III and wife Patricia; daughters, Mary Lynn Freeman and husband Harvey and Teresa Osborne; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, N. Elm St.
