Harold Wayne Combellick, 91 of Gettysburg, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Oahe Manor in Gettysburg.

Funeral service was Friday, June 22, 2012 at Grace Bible Church with Pastor Jeff Adel officiating. Burial followed Friday at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis.

Harold Wayne Combellick was born on October 1, 1920 in Gettysburg to Benjamin and Marina (Mode) Combellick.

On July 1, 1942 Harold was inducted into the United States Army, serving during WWII in the European Theater. He was honorably discharged November 25, 1945 having received five battle stars.

Harold returned to Gettysburg. He married Neola Genzler in 1947. They had three children together and later divorced. He then married Millie Tin Cup in 1963 and they also had three children and were later divorced.

When Harold returned from the service he farmed for five years before moving to Aberdeen where he worked in a freight warehouse. He returned to Gettysburg working for numerous area farmers and also spent early mornings driving to Bowdle to get the Aberdeen American News for the Gettysburg Community and driving weekly to Mobridge for Jack Stoner with the Potter County News. Harold retired in 1986.

Harold enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, tinkering with cars and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of the Medicine Rock Senior Center, VFW and American Legion.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children,longtime companion,step daughter,16 grandchildren,four step grandchildren,15 great grandchildren,seven step great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; a sister and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Betty Ann; an infant grandson, Casey Combellick; great grandson, Rayce Cartney; and siblings: an infant sister, Grace Bramblee, Raymond, Wilbur, Orville "Hoppy" and Benjamin.

Harold enjoyed his time at the Oahe Manor since taking up residence there in February 2011. He thought of the entire staff and residence as family. Thank you for the wonderful care that was given.
