Clair Henry Anderson beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, peacefully departed this life into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on June 12, 2012.
Clair was born on October 4, 1928 in Ephraim, Utah to LeRoy and Henrietta Anderson.
He attended Snow College, BYU, and LDS Business College. He loved his country and served in the Korean Conflict. He received the Purple Heart and other honors while serving his country, including the Bronze Service Star and the Korean Service Medal.
He married the love of his life, Emma Darlene Jones, August 3rd 1953 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
He taught his children the value of work. His family was such an important part of his life, whether attending sporting events, recitals or family dinners; he always loved being with his family. All who met Clair loved him. He assumed every person he met was from Sanpete County and treated them as though they were old friends. Dad loved traveling, golfing and spending winters in St. George.
Clair is survived by his wife and children Dirk and (Judy), Joni and (Dave) Free, Craig and (Tiffanie), and Robert and (Angie). 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brothers and sisters, Glen Anderson, Grant Anderson, LaRue Greenland, Leigh Johnson and Tony Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his children George Victor Anderson and Susan Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Winder 5th Ward, 1361 East 4000 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends may attend the viewing on the evening of Friday June 15th from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive and Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery. Funeral director, Mike Anderson, Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi, UT. 801-580-3366.
