MAPLEWOOD-- Victor "Red" Gross Jr., 60, 21665 Maplewood Road, died Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.
Born Aug. 6, 1923, in Pemberton, he was the son of Victor and Lola (Burk) Gross.
He married the former Roberta G. McFarlan Sept. 10, 1947 and she survives with two sons, Victor, at home, and Paul of Sidney; four daughters, Mrs. James (Pat) Zimpher of Anna; Mrs. Virginia Hilyard of Botkins; Mrs. Charles (Lynn) Phipps of Piqua, and Mrs. Anthony (Ann) Herring of Maplewood, and 16 grandchildren.
Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth of Liberty, Ind., and Robert of St. Johns, Wash., and six sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Agnes) Deatry of South Prairie, Wash.; Mrs. Mary Lou Munson of Emeliaw, Wash.; Mrs. Randall (Helen) Arnold of Sidney; Mrs. Jerome (Neota) Koverman of Dayton; Mrs. I.W. (Lillian) Howard of West Milton, and Mrs. Isabelle Snyder of Casstown.
One sister is deceased.
Mr Gross was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Jackson Center VFW Post. He was employed as a grinder at Wagner Manufacturing Co.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Schrieber officiating. Burial wil follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until the time of services.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby County Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society.
