Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Mrs. Bernard Prejean, age 66, the former Annie Lee Smith, who passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at 10:05 p.m. at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Samuel Blaylock, pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Lafayette, will officiate at the services.
Annie was a native of Gilmore, TX and a resident of Carencro for most of her life. She was a parishioner of Northside Baptist Church in Lafayette where she was a member of the choir and did volunteer work. Annie loved decorating and cooking.
Survivors include her husband of forty eight years, Bernard Prejean, of Carencro; three sons, Gary Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Alan Bernard Prejean of Kaplan and David Byron Prejean of Crowley; one daughter, Mamie Linette Baudoin d'Ajoux and her husband, Gabriel, of Carencro; one sister, Flois Koury and her husband, Leon, of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Michael Thibodeaux, Lance Prejean, Travis Prejean, Michael Prejean, Patricia Prejean, Chelsey Prejean, Leighton Benoit and André Baudoin; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Smith and the former, Mamie Proctor; one son, Brian Keith Prejean; and three brothers, Johnny Smith, Ronnie Smith and Joe Smith.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
