Mrs. Eva Brownell
Mrs. Carrie Eva Brownell, wife of Henry L. Brownell, 1 Hope st., died at 12:50 p.m. Thursday in Maple Avenue Hospital. She was 72.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Moore Funeral Home here by Rev. Clarence Shaw. Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brownell was born Sept. 11, 1891 in Austin, Pa., daughter of Charles and Lilly Morgan Burritt. She was married to Henry L. Brownell, who survives.
A resident of DuBois since 1917, Mrs. Brownell was living in Austin at the time of the Austin flood. She was a member of the Salvation Army, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Railroad Association, the Wesleyan Bible Class of the First Methodist Church.
The couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 19, 1958 in Austin.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Brownell leaves two daughters, Mrs. Betty Castle, Washington, D.C.; and Mrs. Doris Cole, Warren, O.; four sons, Gilbert, Wilfred and Leslie, DuBois; and Paul, Luthersburg; her mother Mrs. Lilly Jobson, Erie; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Lindahl, Florida; Mrs. Dorothy McCumber, Warren, Pa., and Mrs. Cassie Nelson, Erie; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
