Smith - At St. Ignatius hospital, Colfax, Monday morning, February 15, Mrs. Silas M. Smith of Riparia.
Mrs. Smith's death came as a great surprise and shock to her many friends in this county.
She was the daughter of J.R. Lee and the greater part of her life was spent in Whitman County. The deceased was 30 years of age and leaves a husband and two children.
Death followed an operation of appendicitis. The funeral was held Tuesday and interment was made in the cemetery at Penawawa.
