Mrs. Tovie M. Barringer, 75, of 2033 Charleston Hwy., Orangeburg, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at MUSC in Charleston.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Orangeburg. Rev. James
Preveaux will officiate. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Casey Barringer, Mike Vasquez, Randy Williams, Robert Verbockel, Anthony Rivers, Johnathan Barnwell and Mike Goodwin.
She was born December 17, 1935, in Salisbury, N.C., the daughter of the late William R. McCubbins Sr. and the late Ruby Stegall McCubbins. She attended Crestview Baptist Church. She was the widow of Curtis N. Barringer Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy B. Judy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis N. (Donna) Barringer Jr. and Gary Wayne (Donna) Barringer, all of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Carly Rivers, Casey Barringer, Amanda Williams, Alana Verbockel, Christy Fischer, Brandy Barnwell, Shelby Coleman, David Coleman and Carrie McPherson; seven greatgrandchildren; one brother, William McCubbins Jr.; five sisters, Patricia Allmon, Martha Strickland, Sue Pendergraft, Rachel Torrence and Sharon Hall, all of North Carolina.
